-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Moin, after trying to get SDL_perl and OpenGL working on a particular stubborn system I am at the point at giving up. I compiled/installed XFree 4.3.0 (300 MB untarred source - OUCH!) successfully. I also installed NVIDIAs newest drivers and had success (after a few headaches of course). After fixing a few destroyed system files (early XFree starts resulted in deadlocks) and struggling with the Xfree config file (odd monitor resolutions instead of what I was used to and no accelerated X at all) I am now a happy camper. Except that SDL and OpenGL won't work together, even though 3Ddiag says everything is fine, SDL compiles with OpenGL (!), and SDL_perl finds SDL and OpenGL and is happy. However, whenever I access an SDL_perl OpenGL application I get the same error: X11 driver not configured with OpenGL I looked in the source of SDL and the error seems to be compiled in (and ths spit out) when HAVE_OPENGL is not defined. However, when I compile SDL, configure says OpenGL is there (--enable-opengl-video is the default, and specifying it for ./configure does not help). So, something is still wrong and I am battering my head against the table... Does anybody have an idea or advice? Best wishes, Tels - -- http://www.notcpa.org/ You still can run any code on your CPU.
